The Dogg
All information was provided by bio.com Born Calvin Broadus on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California, Snoop Dogg got his nickname from his mother because she thought he looked like the character in the Peanuts cartoon. His first album, Doggystyle (1993), climbed its way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard's hip-hop and Top 200 charts, and his music and trouble with the law have kept him in the headlines ever since.
In early 2012, Snoop announced that he was working for the first time on an all-reggae album, Reincarnation. Later in 2012, he announced that, in conjunction with his reggae project, he was dropping "Dogg" from his name and becoming "Snoop Lion." (He later returned to his old moniker.) He has the distinction for having the most Grammy nominations of any music artist— 17 to date — but never having won one.
Snoop-ventures
Outside of music, Snoop has made investments in the burgeoning cannabis business. In November 2015 he launched Leafs By Snoop, becoming the first A-list celebrity to brand a line of cannabis products. That same year he also launched a new digital media venture called Merry Jane, which focuses on the latest news about marijuana.
According to Ahmed, Snoop eventually transitioned from being a dangerous gangster to being marketable. He started acting, and while he wasn’t great, he had memorable roles in films like 2001’s Training Day and 2004’s Starsky & Hutch. He popped up in video games like True Crime: Streets of L.A. He even had an underrated sketch comedy show, Doggy Fizzle Televizzle.

Slated for the fall of 2016, Snoop and Martha Stewart will team up to host VH1's Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, a cooking show that will include a multitude of celebrity guests.
From Stage to Kitchen
This information was provided by the Atlantic. Snoop got his breakout in the culinary arts when he first appeared on Martha Stewart's cooking show. During this time, Snoop Dogg taught Martha the definition of "fo' shizzle," "crack-a-lackin," "chuuuch," "all hood," and "ball til ya fall." You know, just a couple of good friends practicing vocabulary.
Martha reached out to Snoop on Reddit during one of her "Ask Me Anything" sessions, and offered him brownies while she was at it.
Some time later, He and Martha were asked to do a cooking show together that was recently renewed for a second season. The two have an awesome time together and snoop has grown more adept at cooking over time.
Snoop Dogg is slowly but surely becoming more prominent in the cooking world. Recently, Snoop even went on stage to prepare a dish alongside renowned chef Guy Fieri. The two met up at The Goya Foods' Grand Tasting Village.
